No Birds, No Money. No Money, No Kids. No Kids, No Life.

We made this loan to a widow named Samia. Samia is a Muslim woman in Egypt with four children and has almost no poultry. She owns a small poultry business where she sells all of her birds in order to provide food for her family.

Some people believe that Muslims are a threat to humanity for strange reasons.

France actually banned something called a burkini which is a full body bathing suit for women. Men believe that women should be almost fully covered up so that no “shenanigans” happen between a female and a male. Some women also disagree with the ban because it is just part of their faith.

One other bad thing that Muslim women have to face is that they cannot leave their homes in certain countries without being accompanied with a male chaperone. That means that Samia has to be accompanied by one of her kids. She can barely afford to help her kids.

This is why we decided to help. Women should have the same rights as men, and by making this loan, we believe we are helping women in a part of the world where they are not treated equally.

Is Poverty Scary?

Halloween is a time where we trick or treat, give a scare, or even prank your friends. But Halloween isn’t always spent this way.

A lot of people put up decorations, and they eat a lot of candy! Most people think that’s the best part. Others have another thing that they do.

We are still helping through Kiva, Halloween, or not. We are always writing, posting, and helping with global poverty.Image result for jackolantern

I wanted to write to say, poverty is scary. It’s a large ghost, haunting half of the worlds population. As members, we do the Ghost-Busting.

Lots of people have other ideas for candy, they plan on stopping world hunger with it! Is it a good idea though?

You can help us Ghost-Bust this halloween, and help end poverty. You can visit Kiva.org to help, and end poverty.

Six Children, One House!

How hard would it be to have to take care of six kids in a temporary house?

Magdalena Lucia’s house was completely torn apart in the recent earthquake in Ecuador. They also lost all of their livestock that they used for their business. She is a 39 year old married mother and her kids ages are 19, 17, 14, 13, 11, and 10.

Magdalena needed  a loan so she could buy supplies to afford a new permanent house. We thought this loan was special because how would you feel to live in a tiny temporary house with an eight person family.
