Delmy Dalila- El Salvador

Delmy Dalila

We chose to lend to Delmy Dalila who is from El Salvador. One of the reasons we lent to her is because she is trying to get money for building a roof over her house’s hallway. she will need wood, nails, and sheet metal. Delmy Dalila is 53 and sells fruit from her house. she gets this fruit from her fruit orchard.

The average person  living in El Salvador earns about $4 ,900 as their annual income. This is a small amount considering the average american has a $47,000 annual income. That is 85.8% less money. It has a large population, but a small amount of  land to live on. The average person in El Salvador dies 5.38 years earlier than the average american.

Shafi From Azerbaijan

Today I made a loan to a man named Shafi so he could support his children’s education. Shafi is married and has two children. His son is studying at second course of college, his daughter goes to 11th grade classes and Shafi’s wife is a house wife.

Shafi has always been proud that his children are educated since he has never been educated, and wants his children to be able to continue in school. His family has been IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) for 22 years.

Shafi:

I made this loan for several reasons. We will be completely paid back in 12 months, which is pretty normal. We will also be paid back monthly. The loans at risk rate is 0.00%, the default rate is 0.04%, and the current exchange loss rate is 0.00%.  So there were many good reasons to make this loan.
